Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi (CBSE) will be conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for a teacher to be eligible for appointment as a schools teacher of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and NCT of Delhi. Interested Candidates can apply only Online for CTET 2014 on CBSE or CTET website.

CTET 2014 Exam will be conducted for :

1. Primary Level Teachers (Class 1 to 5)
2. Junior Level Teachers (Class 6 to 8 )

CTET 2014 Educational Qualifications:

1. Class I to V Teachers :
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

2. Class VI to VIII Teachers:
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

Examination Fee:
1. Paper–I or Paper–II: General/OBC: Rs 500/- and SC/ST/Diff. Abled: Rs. 250/-
2. Paper–I & II: General/OBC: Rs 800/- and SC/ST/Diff. Abled: Rs. 400/-
Service Charges & Service Tax as applicable will be charged extra by the Bank/Post Office.

How to Apply: Online Application has to be submitted by accessing the following CTET website www.ctet.nic.in. Candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated Confirmation Page after successful submission of data, which has to be sent to CBSE, CTET Unit, after affixing a passport size photograph and signature in the space provided, and also with the original CBSE copy of Challan in an envelope of size 12”x9” superscribed in bold letters “APPLICATION FOR CTET-FEB 2014” by Registered/Speed Post so as to reach positively by 07.11.2013 in the CBSE office on the following address:

Pattern of Examination: The CTET examination will be of objective type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ’s). There will be no negative marking. There will be 2 papers of CTET. Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII. A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

  • Submission of Online Application Form: From 11 October 2013 to 31 October 2013
  • Last Date for Receipt of Confirmation Page in : 07 November 2013
  • Date and Timing of Examination PAPER-I : 16 February 2014 (02 PM to 04:30 PM)
  • Date and Timing of Examination PAPER-II : 16 February 2014 (09:30 AM to 12:00 AM)

Qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
